COP26 is a global United Nations (UN) conference about climate change. COP26 stands for 26th Conference of Parties. It will be attended by countries that signed the 1994 UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This year it is being held in Glasgow, UK.
Twenty thousand diplomats, business executives and activists are expected to attend the conference. They aim to discuss critical issues effecting climate change: carbon markets, coal usage, methane emissions and climate finance.
